Due to an accident, I got internet access at work that allows me to do darn near anything. Obviously I'm not in any hurry to correct the issue...

We were making fun of the token vegetarian here at work in a department-wide email thread and I linked to the BigIdea site for the Veggie Tales videos. I forgot that it's considered "Entertainment" and blocked by Websense.

Well, this manager (not mine) replied to everybody "Thanks for rubbing it in that only you can go to these sites".

WTF?

So now he's made an issue of it, showing how bitter he is about it. So, you all know what happens next: Either he makes a point to other managers that I have better access than him, or because of his comment the other managers decide on their own to make an issue of it.

Either way I'll lose my access. Grrrrr....

Why are non-work related emails flying around the company wide distribution list?

We actually created an "Off Topic" mailing list that most of the department (including managers and directors) subscribe to. It allows folks who don't want to be bothered to unsubscribe, and those who want them to use a rule to dump them into a separate folder to be viewed when time allows.

The E-Mail may be a bigger problem

Sounds like a hostile work environment for the vegetarian. Businesses usually don't tolerate employees using company resources and time to ridicule other employees about a non-work issue.
