it's not just the same chord progression, it's the fact that it's nin vs carly rae.

and a form of minor vs major. But it is just the vocals, so they can fit over anything you can make somewhat similar in speed, beat and chords.

Wow... that is actually a really good match up.

Zeze is dead on though. Look up some 4 chord guitar videos. They can do like 100 pop songs with the same 4 chords.

I don't think it is a coincidence that it is about the same time that genre started to disappear. Hell, the "rock" station in LA (KROQ) was playing Eminem/Rhianna last time I accidentally hit "FM" instead of "Sirius" on my head unit.
