6-1-2005 Lindsay Lohan uninjured in crash with paparazzi

Actress LINDSAY LOHAN was involved in a paparazzi-related car accident Tuesday in Los Angeles' Wilshire District, according to "The Insider"'s MARC MALKIN. Around 5:30 p.m., the star of 'Freaky Friday' was allegedly trying to flee the photographers when one of their vehicles struck her car, LAPD said.

"I heard she was being followed heavily and very closely," the star's rep said. "Thank goodness she is okay, just shaken up and a little soreness. I feel like this is [PRINCESS] DIANA all over [again]; they need to be stopped -- a law needs to be passed."

"I thank God my daughter was able to walk out of the car," says Lindsay's mom, DINA.

CNN article

After Lohan made a U-turn to evade Ramirez, he intentionally crashed his minivan into the driver's side door of Lohan's Mercedes Benz coupe, police said. The crash occurred just outside the Beverly Hills city limits, police said.

Lohan suffered a cut to her ankle and complained of pain in her neck and ankle, police said. Her passenger, who police did not identify, complained of pain in her head and wrist.

Lohan had called police from her cell phone to complain that she was being chased by paparazzi shortly before the crash, police said.

Hmmmm, it has become a Lindsay Vs Diana thread.

Should I make a Poll?

Um, OK. What law would you pass to prevent this, besides the reckless driving laws that already exist?

make it a felony to follow someone with the intent of taking pictures after they've already asked you to desist...if celebrities could call the cops and have paparazzi arrested, i bet they would think a little bit harder about acting the way they do

Umm...no...Diana >>>> Lohan in every way.

Really? How?

At least Lohan produces her own income, rather than running around giving away other people's money and looking like some kind of saint for it.

I'm sorry, but Diana never produced anything of value in her life.

would it be considered assault with a vehicle since they were chasing her and one of them hit her car?

One man, GALO RAMIREZ, was released from police custody after being booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and posting bail.

There's your charge right there. Assaulting someone with a car is "assault with a deadly weapon."

If you're in public, you're fair game.

There is no expectation of privacy in public and there never was.

Charity work is valuable IMHO, and at least Diana had a REASON for being famous.

And wasn't anorexic.

I don't "worship" Diana, I just don't like Lohan:p

The "deadly weapon" was his car.

Diana had NO reason for being famous other than being born into a good family and marrying royalty.

The charity work she did amounted to nothing more than giving away other people's money. She produced nothing of value to contribute herself.

you consider your car public property? sure if shes out on the street people should be allowed to take pics of her all day long...but if its in the privacy of your own car? I consider to be my own personal private space, by taking pics of me inside you are violating that...

*just fanning the flames :p*

If you're in your car on a public road, of course you're still fair game. They can't get in your car with you, but if you're visible from the outside, you're a target.
