I just can't believe it, I stuck it into the freezer, waited for a few days and it works! AMAZING! It came with a laptop a friend gave me and now I got it to work!!!!

Uh, you do realize that it will be completely dead the next time you boot up, right?

can someone scientifically explain how freezing a hard drive works?

the temperature of the freezer is low enough that it kills whatever viruses have infected the harddrive

i hope this helps

 good one

I actually have had some CDs that will stop working when they reach certain temperature (being spinned for too long). Took it out, put in the freezer for a minute or two, put it back, voila...(and had to repeat several times until installation was complete)

Umm, you're only supposed to freeze it for a few hours, not days.
