well not really broke, but now its fux0red. i wanted to see if an old keyboard i had laying around still worked. so i plugged it in and everything was fine.... then i disconnected it and tried to plug my current keyboard back in, and no matter what i did the flipping connector wouldn't go in all the way. So after further inspection i discovered that the little black plastic pin from the male ps2 connector of the old keyboard broke off and is now stuck in its respective female input on my motherboard. so now i can no longer stick anything into that ps2 input. WTFFFFFFFFFFF so my only solution was to break off the black connector from my current keyboard...and now everything is fine and dandy :)

just a question: can you plug a keyboard into the mouse ps2 input? would it work?

There is such a thing called a "pick" set that you could use to fish out the broken alignment pin... ;)

Or simply break off the black pin on your other keyboard so it will fit again.

Some little tweezers ought to get the broken one out, though. Make sure you power down and UNPLUG THE POWER SUPPLY FIRST. ATX power supplies provide power to the keyboard and mouse ports even when the computer is off, so you will short it if you try to stick anything metal in there while it's plugged in.
