Congrats! I really hope my search for a good CS job isn't that long...

I'm hoping that good grades + good school + coop and other work experience = good job. Guess it still depends on the job market in 4+ years...

Yes. To all those currently in school, get a coop or internship. Many places look for professional experience.

Yea, unless you really screw up at the place you coop with, they're highly likely to offer you a salary job after graduation. Of course you can always look around and apply to other places, with the coop experience on your resume.

I've been looking all over for someone like you...outta college with a CS degree and looking to start at a small company thats growing. I'm having to resort to hiring interns to do your job instead which sux cause these kids dont wanna do jack and earn a ton for it these days.
If your having trouble looking for a job help me (and probobly others too) out here and tell me where to look for you guys????

maybe contact a college that graduates cs majors????

Yea really, click the link in my sig. I'm sure my school could hook you up with some good graduates.

i honestly was in the right place at the right time. i had been looking for like 2 months, posting on monster, and every sunday in the washington post they had a HUGE tech job classifieds section. one day i saw one that said "do you like computer graphics? blah blah ... C++ and OpenGL (my 2 favorite languages to program in)?" and they were looking for fresh people because turns out they were expanding. well to make a long story short, they contacted me back and i ended up with the job :)

i could not be more happy than I am not. my experience was working in a grocery store for 8 years (since 14), and i had one internship that was more of an IT internship than anything. aside from that it was basically my class descriptions and some highlights of projects I did.

i am so happy because 1, i really wanted to do programming dealing with graphics, and 2, i wanted to do commercial software stuff, as oppose to working for a company and being a programmer to make little utilities they need. and the environment here is great.

all in all, i lucked out :)
P.S. i only had 1 interview before this one, and it was for some company whre i would have been the only programmer.

That's great that you found a job, I'm a Electrical Engineering major with emphasis in Software Systems (used to be a Computer Engineer) out of UC San Diego and have been searching for 3 months with no interviews :-( Entry level tech jobs are really hard to find. Nice work though, wish I could be as lucky. Now i'm just trying to get a real estate license in the meantime to have more flexibility in the skills that I have.
