In the handle there might be a piece of metal. Push that to the side slightly and then try folding it gently.

yea, it says linerlock, which means that the lockblade is in the inside of the handle, where the blade folds in, as big j says, push the metal piece behind the blade to the side

Heh, when I got my first linerlock knife, I was confused as hell as to how to close it - FOR FIVE SECONDS.

Then for a long time I was very careful to get my finger clear of there before I folded the blade, and I always very carefully unfolded the blade.

Now I whip the bad boy out of my pocket, snap my wrist, cut whatever needs to be cut, get my thumb in there, tap that piece of metal, swing is just a little bit, get my thumb out and snap my wrist in the other direction. I can do it all in one very fluid motion and with blinding speed. People with switchblades fear how fast I can produce a 4 inch blade with the flick of my wrist.

Don't feel bad, there are a ton of people who can't close a linerlock. I let people use my CRKT PECK and not one person has ever closed it.

How so? I've had mine for almost five years now and it is great.

Thanks for the plug. Still waiting for you to post! :) BTW, we aren't all knives! :D

Linerlock knives are cool but framelock style knives are the way to go for folders. Some liner locks are poorly designed. I just took that framelock pic with my Canon A70 on the macro setting. It pics up every little speck of lint and dust! :p

My first one - the assembly of the entire knife came loose. No amount of tightening the screws helped. It also became dull very fast, although it was used as a box cutter. My second one right now - the tip is already bent, and it's used for nothing more than opening stuff. It's also starting to come loose. I oil it every few months and try to take good care of them. I guess I break knives easily because I snapped my Kershaw's blade in half about a year and a half ago.

Now that I personally have possession of a MicroTech UT-6, I can confirm... no, you arent faster in deploying/retracting your blade than someone with a D/A knife. [Nelson]HA-HA[/Nelson]
