OMFG.. did Nicki Minaj seriously use a Joe Satriani Song for a hip hop song?

A friend posted this on her facebook page.. I'm listening, and as someone who at one point could play this Satriani song note for note, I couldn't believe what I heard.

I looked at the youtube page and yea, other people are making the same comment.

Granted, they are just using the main guitar line, not the entire song, but still. It's obvious.

After doing research after having my WTF moment, I found that Satriani gave them permission and is even listed as an author of the song in the credits. On the wiki page, the first line under the section "composition" states that the main melody was sampled from Satriani.

Coldplay refused to acknowledge the stole the song. However, they settled out of court.

In all seriousness though, I never thought that song that Coldplay allegedly ripped off sound that similar, and I hate coldplay, and have all of Joe's albums, so I'm not trying to defend them.
