OMFG. 217 "Reply-To-All" messages waiting for me when I walked in this morning. (Update: message sent again today)

Someone put out an announcement for some Gay/Lesbian Association meeting here to the entire CDC staff last Friday and it appears everyone freaked out and hit "Reply All -Take me off the list! I'm straight! I was just experimenting that one time at camp!". This, of course, incites an internal email flamewar with people sending out "STOP REPLYING TO ALL, YOU DUMB MOTHERFSCKERS!", futher people replying to all, and assorted "I hate/love gay people" debates. It took forever to delete all this crap. :disgust:

I swear, if this happens again; I'm taking my stapler and burning down the building. :|

EDIT- 7/16/03 They sent the same email out again. This should be interesting as I think a few people received reprimands for "inappropriate usage of email" and "verbal abuse of fellow employees" after the last one.

The next meeting of the CDC/ATSDR Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual, Transgender, Questioning (GLBTQ) Populations Work Group will be on Tuesday, July 29, 2003, 12:30 - 1:30 PM in building 8, Corporate Square.

Attached is the GLBTQ WG agenda for the July meeting. Notes from the June meeting are available upon request. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us.

Please do. It is a tad annoying coming to work with so much crap to sort through. I spend roughly 1 hour every morning wading through the vast amounts of crap email I get. And none of it is spam.

Our IT department disabled the "reply to all" feature on Outlook. If you really want to reply to all you have to manually go into your Address book and select the "all" address. Of course this doesn't stop retards from accidentally sending things they really shouldn't to the entire state, but it does raise the combined IQ-level of all e-mail on the system a little.
