I haven't used Omega drivers since hmm...9600pro days, hope these do well- good to see vista development coming along with Omega although no Vista64 support .

I used to use so called tweaked driver sets like Omega but over time began to realize they are pretty much worthless. Better just to go with the latest officials or good betas. Just ask anyone in the driver section at nvnews.net about modded drivers.

Currently using the DNA-Force 4.0 drivers (v169.04 based) & they've been performing flawlessly for me although in fairness I never tried the official Nvidia's of the same version number to compare ... glad to see Omega is back & I'll be giving them a shot on my next upgrade.

I never said they are worse just kinda pointless. The times they are useful is when they add support for unsupported cards in certain driver sets. Any other tweaks they might do can easily be implemented on your own.

Better name would be "placebo drivers".

People love to think, for some reason, Nvidia is missing optimizations on the hardware they engineered and created.

I think people feel cooler when they say they use modified drivers, give it time tho cause once one person says hey these are the best drivers in the world the IQ is 10000000 times better the next thing you know over the intranet it becomes TRUE. I agree there are times a modded might work better in cases where officials arent being released to keep up with games etc, but I have never seen a modded that made me go omg these drivers look better then anything in the world.

Well, the official WHQLs are a bit slow 5-10%

but these tweaked are useless IMO; never helped framerates or image quality for me.

Omega 169.25 Vista 64

Just released, I haven't installed them yet, or any Omega drivers in a very long time. Biggest problem I had with them was they tended to break the installer/uninstaller for NV releases, which necessitated the use of tools like DriverCleaner etc. Besides that they typically resulted in lower performance for some IQ tweaks.

I use Omegas for my X1600 Mobility because they don't come with some bloated control panel app
