Some people sware by them. I personally am a little warey of non official drivers.
Having said that though, ive been using the ATI DNA driver for the past week as they perform better in DX2.

Raised my stock 3dmark01 score by 1000 and allowed my mem/core to go an extra 10/14mhz respectively. Nice overclocking feature aswell :)

They're basically repackaged versions of the Catalyst drivers, in some cases mixing-and-matching DLLs from different driver versions.

Use them only if you can't get ATi's official drivers to work.
