i have a radeon 9500pro so i guess this may only apply to those with 9500/9700 cards and of course the mentioned drivers....now i downloaded the demo the otherday....cranked everything up as high as it would go...gameplayed smooth.
but....the textures specially on vehicles and the images for the loading screens appeared blocky and blurred....i put this down to the fact that the demo is only a beta
i had my D3D settings with everything set to Performance so just out of curiosity i thought ill put the slider up to balanced (where mip map and texture levels are set to high quality) i was tempted for some AA and AF becuase my system basically limits UT2003/2004 tp about 45fps i can enable 6xAA and 16AF and still get 45fps!
but i didnt, i just left balanced settings on....loaded the game back up and magically all the textures....i mean all...as in skins, terrain, viechles etc were all instantly more defined and very detailed and sharp.
so why does having performce settings on give this much of image quality loss? any one else experienced this?
