OMCT: Alarms!

I have a VERY hyper-sensitive car alarm (it goes off when it rains, even when it's windy) and I was wondering where the brain box usually goes so I could fiddle with it and maybe turn the sensitivity down. It's an aftermarket alarm, shock sensor plus a radar that also is a tad sensitive. I'm really gettinf tired of being woke up some nights to my overactive car alarm. It's a python if that makes any difference.

Any suggestions? links? I also have an '03 eclipse if that helps any ..

usually the installer strap the shock sensor on to your steering column. its a clear box about 1" x 1.5" or so. there's an orange plastic screw inside that you turn to adjust the sensitivity.

You need to adjust the sensitivity on the shock sensor itself. These can usually be found attached to large wire harnesses under the dash. Look for a small box ziptied to a wire harness, not to a metal bracket. They are less effective when mounted to something solid. That's not to say that it isn't attached to a bracket or piece of the dash frame. If you can't find it, you'll have to trace wires from the alarm brain.
