As I understand it, if you're banned you can still lurk, just not post.

as long as you don't ever log out and the session doesn't expire you are not 'banned' yet. You can't post still, but as soon as that session expires you are 'done'....

Of course they cannot stop you from reading the posts here (realistically)...but I am sure they could care less, the problem comes from the posting ability. If anything the torture of being able to see yourself being flamed, but having no ability to respond probably gets a few to cackle gleefully 😉
