Olympus FL-14 flash backward compatability

Will the Olympus FL-14 flash work with classic Olympus Cameras like the Trip 35 and the PEN EES-2? Both of these cameras are in perfect working order and each have one contact on the flash shoe. Flashes from the proper era are either very expensive or iffy due to age.

There are photos out there that suggest that it will work, but I don't know of these are for show of if the flash works. It is a pretty decent size and new/reliable would be great for those of us who shoot these old cameras.
