Olympus D-510 problems...help please!

My D-510 is crapping out on me, and is only 7 months old. :|

Anyway, I guess I'm going to give them a call tomorrow (business hours, bleh), and see if I can get an RMA. Anyone here had good/bad/ugly service with them before?

All manufacturers, at least the ones myself or my customers have dealt with suck...

Sorry, I am a bit biased against them.

If the lens is stuck, I found you can just twist it back into place.

from what i read, olympus warranty sux.

from my experience... i am fairly certain it sux. i had a problem with my olympus 460z digicam. i called up tech support and right away the tech knew the problem was with the lense. so he tells me to mail it in insured and all. so i did. i mailed it in via usps insured priority. i forget about the thing for like three months, and i call back and ask them for it. they said they never got it. by this time i lost my usps slips :( i've had usps lose first class mail on me, but not priority mail (tho sometimes it's late). i think just're just shafting me. i dun like it. gonna stay far far away from olympus from now on.

What do you guys mean by the "lens being stuck?"

It seems like this could be the problem, but I'm not exactly sure. It was working fine two weeks ago, and now isn't working at all today. :(

I checked all the obvious stuff - batteries, etc., and plugged it into the AC adapter, but no luck.

What happened when you called Olympus tech support/customer service?

Did you buy this with a VISA or MasterCard? Still have your receipt?

Sorry to ask a question in response to your question, but I was wondering if you bought this during the rebate period where they would send you a free 32MB card. I never got my card, and my girlfriend didn't keep copies of the rebate/upc she sent in!! :eek: We do have the receipt though...

There really isn't much for me to describe, unfortunately. Occasionally when it is plugged into AC power, the lense opens. However, even that appears to be stopped now. When I open the lens cover, it just sits there. :( The lens doesn't pop out, but it makes a sound (briefly) as though it is about to.

I've tried new batteries, etc., but no luck. :(

Still have the receipt, box, and all packaging. I paid for it on VISA.

Sounds like the camera is seriously fcuked up... Try calling Olympus and RMA it...
