I'm skeptical that these guys could be legit with these prices and free shipping. I decided to post to see if anyone has ordered there, also to let some of you more aggressive dealers attempt a price match somewhere.

All home electronics

The C-730 is one of Olympus's newer models. Has 10x optical zoom with a 3 megapixel sensor. The other two are 4 megapixel cameras.

This place also has some hot deals on other brands. I'd say go for pricematches only, till someone confirms otherwise.

Try www.returnbuy.com and they are also on eBay. They have the C-720 for around $300 shipped. The C-720 is like the C-730, expect it has an 8x optical zoom instead of a 10x optical. I picked up a c-720 from returnbuy and it's a wonderful camera!

Keep in mind ReturnBuy are selling stuff that were returned by customers, so might not be brand new. But I did get a brand new camera from them once and was very happy with it.

Well I ran across them while looking for a Canon G2. Took a chance yesterday and ordered one on Visa. They say they are new, have USA warranty and all the manufacuturer's accessories. No gray market. Guess I'll find out. They were $455 for the camera and some others were at least in the $490's without shipping. I only looked at places that said they had USA warranty and all standard accessories.

rsales -- did you actually talk to someone from All Home? I have not called them yet. I also am tempted to order one but I prefer to avoid the hassle if it's false....

A friend recently (just before the C-730 came out) got a new C-720 for around $385 shipped @ buydig.com. She received her camera within 5 days after ordering it.

roamerr,

Well I called them on the phone before ordering to verify they were in stock and double check they had USA warranty. Like I said I did find other sites that had them at $490+ so it wasn't like $100's less which would have really worried me.

To find out if a camera is actually warrantied from the manufacturer, you need to call the manufacturer and ask if the place you are buying the camera from is an authorized dealer... I assume the place that is selling it will say it is warrantied to get your business, but when the camera breaks you might be SOL.

cjchaps,

Good idea.

Edit: Called Canon and they can only verify dealers that they can refer you to. They said they are not referring people to any on line dealers at this time. So they only seem to refer to retail outlets. They also said if it is a Canon camera covered by a USA warranty it will have a warranty card in the box that says, "Canon USA, Canon Canada limited 1 year warranty". They said if it is gray market it will say "Canon international 1 year limited warranty".

So I won't know until if and when I get it. If not USA warranty then back it goes and it was purchased on a charge card. I have their statement and web page statement of USA warranty. We'll see.

FYI, here's what they say on the web page:

"ALL PRODUCTS WE SELL ARE BRAND-NEW ITEMS WITH USA WARRANTY INCLUDES ALL MANUFACTURER¡¦S PACKAGED ACCESSORIES

?h WE DO NOT SELL GRAY MARKET OR REFURBISHED MERCHANDISE!

?h FOR SHIPPING CHARGES AND MORE INFO PLEASE CHECK OUR POLICY.

(All demo, used, secondary or damaged stock units will be very clearly marked as such).

We are fully authorized to sell all of our products online.

Products are only available through mail order sales."

Anyone tried the C730?

I am thinking about buying one but not sure wether to buya 730
or their C2100 UltraZoom.

I know the 700 series is newer than the C2100... but is it as good?

rsales:
Can you keep us updated when you get your camera?
IF warranty info is as advertised, etc...

I'm interested in the Olympus C-730 myself.

Well I ordered the camera on 11/5/02 and they billed the card the same day. Week later they didn't ship and the card is billed. They said they didn't get them yet from Canon and they would ship the order on 11/18/02. Called on 11/18/02 they said they didn't get the cameras from Canon and cancelled the order. Going to make sure the credited my card. No impressed with them. Ordered from someone else the same day.

I also was a little worried about allhomeelectronics.com, so I requested a PM at officemax (115%), and the CSR (rhonda) said no problem. The CSR was kinda bad at math (took 3 emails to get a correct PM), but it's worth it to get the camera from a brick+mortar establishment. I'm not sure if you can apply coupons on top of OM PMs, but if so, it'll get even sweeter (eg: $50 off 250). Of couse this all depends on whether they have the camera you're looking for. I was going for the olympus c-3020-

update:

Just got final email from rhonda, and she idicated coupons could be applied to the order after PM! The only crappy part is they will only pm 115% against other office supply places. In any case, including tax + next day shipping (required), office max price was 306.35 - 50 coupon = 256.35... which isn't blazing hot, but it's basically the same as allhomeelectronics, except they actually deliver the product ;).

edit:.... wow just realized, that's actually $30 CHEAPER than ALLHOME!!!! hell yeah!!
