I think I am going to purchase the Olympus C3000 Digital Zoom camera. Is this a good camera for the money and what do you need to buy as accessories? Do you need a battery charger and extra memory. Any recommendations?

don't know much about digital cameras! I've been reading reviews and I'm getting confused!

That's a pretty high powered camera for a first timer. I have the C3030-Z and it is my 4th Olympus. They pretty much rule when it comes to image quality.

You will need a set of NiMH batteries and a charger. The A/C adapter is sometimes handy, but not mandatory. Definitely a USB Smart Media reader if you have a computer.

Other than that . . . a couple of spare Smart Media won't hurt. I use a 64 megger most of the time.

Software is not very important . . . all you need is a good JPG editor and viewer. If you have the S/M reader, then you can move files with Explorer because it sees it as just another drive. The best buy is SanDisk's.
