I have an Olympus C-720 Ultra Zoom, a Dell PC with a Windows 98 (Second Edition) and have just installed CamMedia and supposedly installed the USB driver from the CD. However, evertyime I plug in the damn camera to the USB port, I get that Windows detects the new hardware, but guess what, it can't find the USB driver! No matter how many times I "install" the USB driver from the CD (it seems to take about four seconds, so I'm supsicious) it never finds it. I can't just add new hardware, as it's not the camera that the computer doesn't recognize but instead hte nonexistent USB driver I installed. The CD has no program file for the USB itself, only install files, but then I might be missing something. Here are my questions:
1. Am I doing something wrong? I installed the USB Driver, restart my computer, plug the USB adapter given by Olympus into the USB port, and then plug it into my computer. Am I missing a step?
2. Is there something wrong with the USB driver?
3. Is there are any way for me to tell if the USB installation has been successful BEFORE plugging in the camera?
4. What is the name USB driver so I can search for it?
5. Can anyone in general GIVE ME A CLUE!
6. Could the fact that I have a Microsoft keyboard that has a two-pronged plug, one of which plugged into the USB, be what's preventing things from working properly?
