<< When we were watching the second Chinese team, we all though they were really good.... I didn't see them stumble or fall or anything... and then they got a standing ovation as they exited.... BUT..come judging time...they got some of the lowest marks of the evening... 4.0's and such. The whole stadium booed the results. Damn judges don't know what they are doing. :| >>

yep, those @*&&^@*&$^@&$ judges, that chinese pair should have at least gotten much better than that. and its not only the chinese...-_-

<< With over 3600 posts, did you ever have anything intelligent to say? Please, grow up.. >>

Well I see you've contributed your mature intellectual tidbit to this thread. And you barely gagged. You must have learned your breathing technique from a Figure Prancer.

<< But do you think you could care, but it's called human decency? Imagine how they feel, if you can. Not everyone is like you in this world. >>

Care enough to support a North American Boycott? Get a clue idiot. Bad Judging, especially in Figure Prancing, is a tradition in the Olympics. Now stop whining like a jilted little girl and go lecture someone who actually cares what you have to say.. if you can find someone.

I wonder what will happen. Sucks for the Canadians, but they will go down in history as #1 in the minds of most people, while the poor Russians will forever be remembered as unwitting userpers...

<< Care enough to support a North American Boycott? Get a clue idiot. >>

BTW - how did this guy every become an elite member? Ad hom attacks like that would have gotten anyone else banned. I don't think I've *ever* seen a string of meanhearted posts like that here on Anandtech...

Ah, maturity is just rampant on AT these days, isn't it? OK...

* I never said anything about a North American Boycott, I just addressed the fact that some people not only care, but they care a lot. (Because you asked "who cares?")

*I'm not an idiot, nice name-calling.

*It's called figure-skating, not prancing. (Who's an idiot?)

*I have plenty of conversations with people in real life everyday who seem perfectly interested in what I have to say. Funny you should mention lectures, I have given a couple in the past to music students (by that I mean I mean professional organized lectures, like when you take college courses, what the professor does heh).

You certainly need to calm down, sir. All I did was answer your question. Don't ask if you don't want an answer.

<< Who cares? >>

Now, did I do anything besides tell you who does care and why? Sheesh...

<< Figure skating is no more a sport than ballroom dancing. Get over it. >>

Uh-huh. Now let's see you do it.

Geez, I see where the stereotypes about Americans come from. If it's not football, it's not a sport. Americans are supreme to everyone else automatically. Arts suck. I'm a fat lazy idiot. lol

Firstly, that's a damn sad thing for a Canadian to say. Secondly, you're wrong. Canada has also kicked ass at 100 m dash :)

2 answers.

First, Red Dawn was the first regular poster on AT (well before Fusetalk) that was able to prove he was a complete jerk. He was granted Elite status for his highly developed ability to be a jerk to everyone, no favourites at all.

Second, as can be seen by the "u" in favourite above, I'm not American and I think ballroom dancing and figure skating are the same and they both don't belong in the Olympics. The judges have been crooks for years, the Canadians have benefited from this in the past, and what is going on now is stupid whining from the losers.

Reddawn, in a thread earlier today on the same topic you said that you don't care what anyone thinks, so why do you still post in these threads? Actions speak louder than words. Much like the other thread instead of engaging in anything meaningful you just throw out random over-used slurs against Canadians which we've all heard far too many times to take offense at - and even the humor value is lost.

Although 9/10 of the population disagrees with you (that an actual statistic) instead of admitted you jumped on the wrong side of this argument you stubbornly stick to your baseless opinion and don't even address the issue.

Pellitier and Sale have shown nothing but class in this ordeal. Call it "whining" if you must. I believe it's standing up for some BS that shouldn't have happened in the first place. I suppose you would just bend over and take it in the a$s.

Indeed the canadian pair displayed high class, and let me tell you something, in times like this it makes me damn proud to be a Canadian. In the end, justice will be served in one form or another, imo. In many people's hearts and down in history, they will always be remembered as the better performers.

I'm not talking about the skaters (although one did threaten to quit skating), I'm talking about all the other whiners.

As mentioned already "I believe it's standing up for some BS that shouldn't have happened in the first place. I suppose you would just bend over and take it in the a$s. " Would you rather take it in the ass?

Again, skating has been crooked for decades. I hate the "sport" to begin with because judging and artistic impression is stupid, but the "fix" has been known forever and it has helped Canada in the past. I've watched hours and hours of figure skating and my sister competed for years and years. I think the loud drone of the whining is annoying as all hell. Nice jumping in and whining now that the Canadian pair lost. From what I've read, they've won for most of this year and not all their performances were "perfect".

Since it was a known crooked system to begin with, the whole "outrage" schtick is stupid and beyond transparent. It wasn't the fix, it was the fact that the wrong team won via the fix. There would be zero whining from Canada if it went the other way.

So, if you insist on putting it in those terms, you lubbed yourself up and bent over, so enjoy your reward. (boy, anal sex references, I'm really channelling red Dawn here)

So basically you're saying it's always been crooked so who cares? We've always had crime, so lets just live with it?

Most people don't give much of a damn about figure skating. Most are totally unaware of it and I'm one of them. I don't know if it's always been rigged or always been fair. All I know is that they were unfairly judged and I think you must agree. This is all that is at issue here and nothing else.

Question: Where they unfairly judged in this case?
Answer: Yes.
Conclusion: Bringing this to issue is not whining.

It is that simple.

Not true, I'm only a jerk to those who take themselves too seriously.. as demonstrated in this thread.

LuDaCriS66, it is an honor to be thought of as an asshole by the likes of you. To me that means that I have successfully conveyed my message about how little I think of you.

As for me being an Elite: the fact that it seems to bother the likes of you my detractors to such a degree actually makes it a worthwhile title for me to hold. On top of that, the knowledge that all of you will never be granted that title and the consternation that will bring you only makes being an Elite that much more satisfying.

You can now continue your little Hen Session and Tea party.

<< I think the loud drone of the whining is annoying as all hell. >>

This could be the biggest issue of these winter Olympics. Sorry for the "take it up the ass" comment but what I meant was would you rather just let it go and let them keeping rigging the event like this? The purpose of this so called whining is to bring justice and to try to keep this from happening again.

<< Since it was a known crooked system to begin with, the whole "outrage" schtick is stupid and beyond transparent. It wasn't the fix, it was the fact that the wrong team won via the fix. There would be zero whining from Canada if it went the other way. >>

Maybe.. maybe not but some of us would definately be embarassed. Would Russia cause a commotion? I think so. Would you complain about the whining then? I'm getting the feeling here you just hate the fact that the Canadians are "whining". You're just saying that it was crooked to begin with so why even bother.

You said you didn't like the sport. You're just getting annoyed at the whining.
