Olympic basket ball - USA loses to Lithuania 94-90

<Nelson voice>

HA ha!

I hope they lose their asses in each and every game. Bunch of whiny-ass NBA pricks.

Olympycs should go back to being amateur athletes.

Might want to edit that and put spoiler in the title.

It's in the 3rd quarter on NBC

BTW who the HELL is Duane Wade?

The truth is that the international game is different than the what the NBA game has evolved into. The NBA game has become a game of power and strength, with slashing and dunking and fighting for rebounds. The international game is a more fluid fast-paced game, where passing and shooting play a bigger role. The US team has better basketball players, but they have simply not been able to adjust to the international game. Personally, I like the international game better, it's more fun to watch.......

It was interesting game, but too much mistakes on our (Lithuania) side: good lesson to learn as we probably meet usa one more time.
USA team has very, very good players, but they are lacking teamplay.

wow.....Lithuania's 3 point shooting was amazing. granted, the 3pt line is closer than NBA standards. still, Lithuania's outside shooting made USA look like they were members at a basketball clinic.

Sarunas Jasikevicius certainly redeemed himself by having a huge game (28 pts...3 huge 3's in the 4th quarter), after missing the potential game winner against USA in the last Olympics. Jasikevicius was in a zone and USA couldn't stop him.

watching this game, Team USA actually played a good game. their teamwork seems to be better and they are moving the ball around more. lack of reliable low post scorers after Duncan hurts the US. people have to put to rest the assumption that Team USA should be blowing out teams by double digits every night. missed FT's by the US was key today, IMO.

Everything u say is true...but it didn't make any difference to the original dream team which included the likes of MJx2, Bird, etc.

i honestly think that with the original (and only) "dream team", the opposing teams were too awestruck to put up a serious fight. plus, the talent level on that team was far and away the best ever. how many USA basketball teams since then have had so many players regarded as the best to have ever played the game, not just the best in the NBA at the time.

this year's team is terrible and they don't play serious defense. basically what happened was they just hoped the other team would miss the shots and theirs would go in somehow. the last quarter they were just standing around tossing the ball to each other. it was just sad that they get paid millions of dollars.

i mean look at the roster... 3 rookies (and okafor?), boozer, jefferson and odom who are ok at best. amare, duncan and marion who are decent, and no true point guards like jason kidd. instead they have a pair of 2-guards/point (iverson and marbury). except duncan, amare and marion, i don't see any decent defenders on the team
