Oliver Stone Interviewing Fidel Castro Tonight @ 8pm (HBO)

Tonight on HBO at 8pm EST. One full hour. Spew away reflexively, I've certainly given you a broad enough target. You know who you are.

But it could be very, very interesting:

'HBO had scheduled <I>Comandante</I> for broadcast last May. But it canceled the showing in April, after the Castro regime executed three hijackers and arrested scores of dissidents. HBO told Stone that <I>Comandante</I> needed to address these developments.


But last spring, before he began shooting <I>Alexander,</I> Stone returned to Cuba as HBO had asked. And what could have been a 10-minute addendum to <I>Comandante</I> became instead <I>Looking for Fidel,</I> a different documentary altogether.

I've read a book of speeches by Fidel Castro. This man is extremely intelligent when it comes to international economics. If they re-air this, try and watch it if you can. Unfortunately I don't have HBO.
