Oliver Stone Does a 9/11 Film...with Nicholas Cage

im just afraid its going to be too 'starred-up' and too much added to further dramatize the situation, as if that is even possible. i don't like the idea of having major actors play roles in this kind of movie. and its going to be tough if not impossible to follow the act that was United 93.

I doubt I'll see it. Don't get me wrong, 9/11 was tough stuff and should always be remembered, but there is something about all these movies coming out that makes me feel like our emotions are being exploited.

are these movies playing in theaters? if they are, they should either play them for free or donate all the proceeds from it to some kind of charity.

Its about time we move on from this attack. I had a friend who died in those attacks, and I know he wouldn't want me living in fear or still upset about it. Emotions being exploited? The attacks happened almost 5 years ago. If people here are still emotionally upset or have a problem with the movie, they really need to start seeking professional help.

LOL! Upset about Hollywood exploiting emotions? Try getting upset at the NSA, Bush Administration, Congress, etc. They have been exploiting us since September 12, 2001 for political and financial gain.

I'm not going to make this some sort of a huge debate. Nightfall I'm glad you agree and pontifex yes, they U93 was in theatres for the same price as normal movies and I am sure this one will be in the theater as well.

I saw MI:3 with a group of guys while our girlfriends all saw U93. The girls all came out saying that people cried the entire movie while they were in there. I would never expect the pain of losing a loved one go away in full, but the US, affected or not by this, has not moved on.

oh god this is going to be bad. Oliver stone is going to fvck it up. its going to be very political.

actually it should be fun to see the reaction from people.

Then all the drug companies, insurance companies, and for-profit hospitals would be in trouble. Careful what you are advocating here.... you're almost sounding like me.

Whatever anyone says about United 93, it really was a movie that should be seen by everyone. As for this, I'm not sure. Nicolas Cage and Oliver Stone in a WTC movie...uh oh.

Nicholas Cage... that's pretty much enough to say the movie is going to suck. He drags down any movie he is in with his sheer annoyingness. In fact, I'd go so far as to say he's one of the only actors who has that effect on me. Another one is Matthew Lilard.

looks like it will fall short....

sadly, the WTC disaster was so epic, so insanely massive, that I don't think CGI will do it justice...
