well..if you're topping bread with either, i'm guessing the caloric intake would be similar.

olive oil because it has more uses than just food: lubricant for shredder, massage oil, etc.

Olive Oil is better for you. It comes down to saturated fat intake. Butter has much more Saturated fat than Olive Oil, so it's gonna clog those arteries that you need to live. And don't even bother with Margarine, it's just wrong.

It really depends on what you are cooking. For somethings I use oil, for others use butter.

Actually, it depends on what I'm cooking. Eggs get butter, while stir fry gets olive oil. Organic, expeller pressed oil :)
