sooo around black friday i bought an olevia 542i for $1000 - $200 rebate (so in the end, $860 including tax)

iv been thinkin about goin 1080p and on the 25th of this month costco will have a new vizio 1080p onsale for $1000

i posted my olevia on craigs a few weeks back and iv been hagling with this dude, and as of today he's willing to do $900 cash...

i just want to be sure im not making a bad choice, so whats everyones experiences with the company? and would you do the upgrade? (also id be getting a 2yr warrenty through costco..vs the 6 MO left on this tv...)

i think this is the most ill ever get for this tv, esp since im making a little $$ on it after owning it so long and because soon 1080p tv's will be just this cheap

I bought the 42" Vizio 720P LCD last year and I have no regrets. Sure, it pales in comparison to my buddy's Aquos, but for the price, it can't be beat IMO.

For 1080p? Heck yea.

I've got a 1366x768 Olevia and my dad has a 1366x768 Vizio and the Vizio has a slightly better HD picture IMO. However, I think the Olevia has a better upscaller as SD looks better on mine.

Considering what you are getting for your older TV I would say go ahead and pull the trigger. If nothing else the warranty extension is almost worth the price alone.
