I've been using an Olevia LT26HVE on a Geforce 6600gt for the last 2.5 years. We download a lot of shows and this is the machine we watch them on regularly.
About 3 months ago the monitor would screech the onboard speakers and go to standby while watching shows. This did not seem to accompany any software upgrades, but I'm always installing stuff so it might have.
Recently its gotten worse and I've attempted to resolve it by upgrading geforc drivers, rolling back the drivers, installing powerstrip, upgrading video codecs....
I believe the monitor is encountering frames of the videos in an incompatible format and it switches to standby. Very annoying
My current problem is I have no display, even in bios. After creating a custom powerstrip driver I was still having the problem, so I reduced the resolution to 1024 x768) and rebooted. Now nothing shows up on the screen.
I've tried holding down F8 for safemode (xp) but no luck, the monitor is black (though the backlight is on) from the moment I hit the power button.
I'm going to try brining home a cheapy lcd from work tomorrw in the hopes that it can display, and I can continue to tinker.... Any other ideas?
