I don't know whether this is the right forum to post this question, so feel free to recommend a better place.
When I try to use Excel through OLE automation, I always get the following message: "OLE unknown error 8002:8018".
This message seesm to be related to the fact that Excel is incorrectly installed. In Help About, it says "unknown user" and "uninstalled version". Obviously this is incorrect as the program is installed through a licensed copy of Office97pro.
I only have this problem with Excel (not with the other Office apps).
I have already uninstalled+manually deleted the folders of Office97 and reinstalled. No change 🙁
I have read that there were some issues with SR2, which would be the reason why SR2b was released. Do you think that installing SR1 after uninstalling again SR2 might help? (I read that it's impossible to fully uninstall SR2 as it makes updates to Windows OS files).
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
