I installed XCOM-Apocalypse on my Win8 Pro x64 via D-fend(Frontend for DOSBOX) and its running perfectly from my original game CD,release date was June 1997 so that puts it at pre Win98 ,scarey lol...

My game record is probably XCOM-UFO Enemy Unknown (1995) on my old Win7 PC,not tried it yet on Win8.

I'm sure somebody has it beat ;) .

PC version of Road Rash. I played it a couple of months ago, but I don't have the original disk.

I've that game in original box with CD , I believe its Win95 game from memory,I have to try that at some point, shame PC version was never as good as the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive version.

Ultima V (1988)

I had at one point converted the 5.25" floppy to 3.5".

That is old and also showing your age if you purchased it back then :awe: ....My first Ultima PC game I purchased was Ultima 8.

Hahaha... I was 8. Never really got far in it back then (was too young to figure out how to properly talk to the NPC's). But I still had many hours of fun with it. Only installed it recently again when all the news of Lord British making a new game started in the last few months... Got me remembering that game, so I dug in my boxes of stuff, found it, and got it working through DOSBox (even patched it with some of the patches now available).

I have a mix of old and new installed. I'm up to around 870+ installed and working on 64-bit Windows 7. My oldest is probably Wasteland (1988). Really have no interest for any game older than that.

I managed to install an old Windows 3.1 version of "Where in the USA is Carmen Sandiego?". It involved running DosBOX, installing a torrented copy of Windows 3.1 on it, installing some old-ass SoundBlaster drivers, and finally installing the game. I was impressed with myself.

At the moment it's Wolfenstein 3D (1992) which is currently installed.

I also recently bought Syndicate (GoG.com version), which is from 1993 but I haven't installed it yet (only added to my GoG collection so far, will play another time). The oldest physical PC game copy I own is the original Lemmings (1991) on a 3.5 floppy disk with the manual (no box though).

Apparently Duke Nukem 3D beat the Quake release by a few months, so Duke Nukem 3D (1996).

The only game that I have found that will not run in Win7 is Missionforce: Cyberstorm. Its a Win95 game, so DOSBox is no help.
