Oldest file on your computer?

Was just browsing my hard drive today and re-arranging some stuff and was curious what my oldest file was. Came across one I still use (movie player for a "certain" type of file ;)) dated 7/15/1988. I had it back on a 286/16 and just kept it the whole way. Haven't used it in 6 or 7 years probably, but it was a piece that remained during all the transfers.

I did a little more digging and came across one dated 3/11/1980 :Q a highscore file of some sort from an arkanoid type game. it wont even run on this pc :( it got mixed into a "special" directory of stuff and I guess I never bothered to fix it. In all fairness though the game was probably copied to that 286 in about the same year, so it doesn't really count. But the one from 1988 has definately been here the whole way.

Anyone else got some old stuff? Stuff on floppy/backup doesn't count. Gotta be something on the rig right now and usable.

<< So...you mean... you don't format?... :Q I thought everyone formats everyday?...LOL. >>

hey i run windows, of course i have to format :)
but i've always had a drive used for backups when i do (or had a partition just for windows so nothing gets lost in a format).

like the 286 hard drive went into a 386, copied the data over. 386 hd into a 486, copied data. 486 into a pentium, copied over. pentium to a p2, p2 to an athlon, then an athlon to an xp. just saved the data over the years. too much cool stuff to lose.
