I do the clean up & repair of donated computers to my sisters school. Someone has just donated a Comcrap system that has a VIA chipset & K6-2 CPU. I have never worked on any VIA chipsets besides the 133a & KT133. After I do a clean win98se install, do I need to use the 4 in 1 drivers for these older socket 7 boards (or are the 4 in 1's for the newer boards also)?

I installed them for my K6-2 system. I don't know if it helped, but the system still runs :)

thanks, I think they are needed, I just don't want to install them & have them do harm (and make me reload everything over again).

Some PCI winmodem won't work without the VIA 4in1. Install them. ;)

I've mvp3 mb, I don't install 4in1, the ide driver causes problem, using the one from win9x gives no problem at all.
