Older Upgrade: p-133 to k6-233 Possible?

I've pulled an old k6-233anr (3.2 V core/3.3V i/o) chip out of a friend's scrapped computer. It was in a socket 7. I'm hoping I can pop it into my even-older socket 5 mobo to replace the Intel p-133 in there. Will this work? Further, will it work if I use only a chip fan, and not a heatsink (which was stuck to part of the old case)?
The mobo is a micronics m54HI-08PM with Phoenix 4.04 bios and an FX (Triton) chipset. I've been scouring the web, but haven't found any info that's helpful.
I can't afford to screw this computer up, so if there's ANY doubt, I'd rather stick with the configuration I've got!
Thx- Gordon.

You can get an adapter from powerleap. The k6 uses a split voltage and the 133 does not. With the adapter you can run up to a 400 I believe. Check out Toms Hardware Guide as I think he has a write up on the full upgrade.

You definately will need an adapter, and the Powerleaps work great. You also need a heatsink. Both a heatsink and fan is preferrable, but a heatsink by itself is much better than a fan by itself since the heatsink metal conducts heat much faster than air can.
