Older PC crashing in games

OK... I went through a lot to get this system stable overall after doubling the memory from 256 to 512. For some reason, though, the computer pretty consistently crashes while rendering 3d images within about 20 minutes. I've played with the AGP Drive Strength, and have it on B and E right now, which allows it to go longer than 10 minutes (where I was at the start). Fast Writes are off, etc, etc. Are there any other BIOS options I can play with? Is it safe to increase the drive strength further?

Was this a OEM PC or DIY? If OEM, those guys calculate the power so much, to save money, that sometimes there isn't enough power to go around after upgrades. Also look at the temps, if possible, and see about airflow. I don't know about AGP drive strength, sorry, and good lick.

Assuming DIY means I build the computer myself, that's what it is :x... It has a 350 watt Antec power supply, which I would think would be plenty for this system.

Yes, I would assume that it would be enough. I would try bumping up the drive strength, if that is the only thing left. Actually, run memtest86 on your RAM 1 stick at a time first. See if it is the RAM, since that is a recent hardware change.
