Trying to help my fiancee's parents, but running into some trouble. Unfortunately, they are in a different state so I can't just go there myself - trying to figure things out without seeing it is tough!
The computer is older, not too sure of the specs, running Windows XP Pro, and trying to connect with a Linksys wusb54gc (ver.1) wireless USB adapter. The router is, i believe, an airport extreme.
First tried by installing the linksys application, which would see the network but not allow it to be selected, so we uninstalled that and just use the windows wireless utility with the linksys driver. That saw the network but gave errors when trying to connect.
In both cases it actually saw two networks from the router - The main one and then guest. I thought that the airport extreme gives off both a 802.11n and 802.11g signal - am I wrong, or does the g have to be enabled? Is that why it is having trouble connecting?
TIA!
