I have an older Toshiba laptop with a 16 bit pcmcia slot. Is there any hardware out there that will turn it into a usb port. I am running Windows 95. I can't find anything that is compatable. Everything I have searched needs a 32 bit cardbus. If anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate it!!

Win95 Revision B and C has usb support, best bet is to put at least 98 on it and go from there.

Besides this has come up here before, I also did a search for a customer to find a 16 bit card. I never found one and people here have done extensive searches and not had any luck either.

Win95B, though claiming usb support, was extremely unstable using it. Win95C, is basically a pre-release of win98, so the usb works better, but it was very buggy.

it supposedly has support, win98 and later are the only microsoft operating systems where usb actually works. i recommend win98se and up for ppl who want to use usb.
