1.8ghz/256/400/1.75v SL5UK

Bought this a few years ago and matched it with an Abit BL7Raid Board. The board is toast and I'm looking for a new board that supports DDR memory that this thing will work with. I bought a BioStar 6540 400 but the machine won't boot with this board. Any idea what board this will work with? More info from Intel can be found Here

Don't assume the CPU is still in perfect condition after you toast a mobo it was in. The biostar mobo could be perfectly working, however it would not boot because the CPU is dead. Test the CPU with the biostar board again and if it does not boot at all or post check for beeps or alarms. Try removing the ram or AGP card and you should hear a beep.

If it does turn out to be the CPU thats dead, and you were happy with its current speed, you could get a Celeron-D 2.4ghz for $70 to replace it, it will be faster, and carry the same L2 cache level. It does run on a 533FSB too.

Actualy saying any "new" socket 478 board will work, is incorrect. That CPU is a williamette core, and a lot of the newer 478 boards dropped support for the williamette. You should be able to find out from the Mobo mfg if the board still supports the williamette core..
