Older HP Laptop Issue

My girlfriend has an old HP Compaq nx6110. Usually when playing video it will give a little pop and shut itself off. We have tried using a vantec notebook cooler, but that did nothing. Any suggestions?

Try getting a utility to see what temps your laptop components are running. You could try EVEREST 5.0 or speedfan by goggling for them. I just install EVEREST and it seem pretty good on my desktop computer for info but not tried it on a laptop yet.

It gives a little pop? 😵

That is not good. Sounds like there may be anelectrical problem with the unit. Or is it a pop sound from the speakers?

If you have any important information on the system then get an external drive and back everything up.

Yep it seam your having some major issues. Its time for backing things up and finding a replacment laptop if needed.

Well you need to decide if you want to find out if its hardware or software issues and how much time you want to spend fixing it or buying something new.
