Older game with newer video card?

I got Need For Speed High Stakes awhile ago and at the time I had a Geforce2 MX. The game worked great. But now I have a Geforce2 GTS and the game will not use the card. The 3D setup sees and recognizes the card but will not use it. I get an error saying files are corrupt and to reinstall. However, when I select Software Renderer, the game runs. It obviously doesn't run as well as if the game used my graphics card. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? I have downloaded the newest driver for my card from the manufacturer, MSI. EA Support hasn't been able to help so far. Do you guys have an thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks

I would say install the newest drivers from nvidia, then try it. Do other games use your new GTS without any problems? If so then the NFS and GTS dont like eachoter..... it is a pain but try to reinstall the game or do a video test in the game (cant remember if there is such an option). It may be worth it. Maybe you should patch up NFS with the newest upgrade, that may help also.

Good luck.
