Older game support on newer cards

I'm getting ready to upgrade my system from motherboard, chipset to video card. I currently have the Voodoo3AGP video card and can still run some of the older 3D games on them. I'm considering upgrading the card to possibly a Radeon 64mg, a Geforce2 or 3. After reading a number of articles and posts I'm still unclear as to whether or not these newer cards will play some of the older 3dfx & GL Glide games as well( I'd hate to just toss the older Tombraider games.) Can someone shed some light? Thanks 😕

As long as the games have either D3D or OpenGL support, there shouldn't be a problem. There may be issues with certain DirectX versions, but most older games should work under DirectX 8.

You should be able to run most any of the older DirectX and OpenGL games fine.
The only games that may pose a difficulty are any older games that are GLide only, in which case you'll either have to run them in software mode or rely upon a Glide Wrapper.
