Older Asus S370 Slotkey with Pentium III FC-PGA?

I was wondering if the older Asus slotkey works with the Pentium III (100 Mhz) processors.

I am currently using it with a Celeron 500 on a Soyo SY-6BA+ III board. I previously flashed the bios on my motherboard so it will support PIII 800, but I'm not sure if my slotkey is FC-PGA compatible.

The slotkey has a default setting, so I don't think voltage should be a problem.

Do I need to get the newer version of the slotkey?

Won't have the necessary voltage management to allow it as low as it needs to be, if I am not mistaken.

Why not just get an FC-PGA approved, like the MSI 6905 master?

Here for $11.88 🙂

Appreciate the suggestion, Compuwiz.

I have been debating about whether to upgrade with a slot 1 or FC-PGA processor.

I'm thinking that if I go with the FC-PGA, I could use it when I upgrade my motherboard; perhaps overclock it to 133 mhz.

What processor would you recommend? I hear new steppings will be out soon - would it be worth waiting?
