Older AGP vs. Newer PCI?

On my 1.2 Athlon system, I'm currently running my rather old TNT2 AGP video card. A friend is giving me his Gforce2 MX PCI card.

My question is: Should I bother? Will the loss of AGP kill any advantage the Gforce will give me? Or should I put it in my kid's Celery 266/400 machine that is still running an old Riva 128 card?

Thanks,
Don

The GF2 MX is hit heavily by going to PCI rather then AGP, it's extremely relient upon AGP's advanced features. A classic GF2 MX card in P{CI would be barly faster then a GF2 MX200 in AGP, and so marginally outperform a TNT2 Ultra by a small amount.
It would be worth using in place of your current TNT2 card, but don't expect a very large gain.

Thanks... That's what I thought. I'll do the switch, if for no other reason than the extra features on the GF card. I'll put my TNT2 in my kid's machine.

Thanks again.
