old XP Vista boot file

i have an old boot folder that appears to be related to my old Vista installation, i removed vista and formated the partition vista was on, edited my boot config file to xp only, how can i delete that folder from my system ?, i wont have a need for vista again, windows xp say its "bootmgr.exe.mui:", and write protected,everything inside the folder points to vista.

just change ownership of folder to yourself recursively and delete all files

i tried taking ownership but that still doesnt allow me to remove/delete the file, is there a way to boot into a dos enviroment and issue a command to delete the file?, i tried renaming the file to "boot old", still could not delete the file.

fixed by moving the file to the desktop then it deleted.
