Old vs. new X1900GT

Many of you probably remember a few months back when Derek Wilson wrote an article on the X1950Pro which contained some negative comments directed at ATI for changing the specs on the X1900GT. Well, I was wondering if anyone ever did a comparison between the 575/1200 X1900GT (old) and the 512/1320 X1900GT (new) to see how they compared with each other?

I'm asking because a buddy of mine has asked me to price him out a WoW box, and this X1900GT looks like a good deal for $155. I'm sure it will be fine (well great actually) for WoW either way, but I'm just curious how it stacks up against the older X1900GT.

Quite basically. You won't notice a difference.

the new x1900 gt is ever so slightly slower.But its not noticable.
And it features a quieter cooling fan too.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. Just wondering if anyone has actually compared the two head-to-head. ...doesn't really look like it. You would have thought that Derek would at least follow up with a comparison.

Looks like a pretty sweet card for $155. NVIDIA can't touch it at that price. I think I'll stick with my recommendation. Newegg even has one for $145 AMIR.

In French but numbers are in numbers. Anyways I had found a couple of others back when Derek made that controversy and really the difference was always under 5% and rev 2 was not always the slower. Tried search here, but can't find it - think search is broken. :beer:

Also, the revision 2 is a pretty decent overclocker even with stock cooling.
