Hello,

I have had this scanner laying about for a while but I needed to use it urgently yesterday (haddn't got round to getting a new scanner yet) so I pugged it into the Parallel Port and installed the drivers off the Windows 2000 CD.

I had originally thought that a scanner of this age wouldn't work on this OS but the drivers were on the Windows 2000 CD! But now when I try to scan, VistaScan comes up and then when previewing all I see are big black squares. No picture at all!

Anybody got and idea how to correct this problem?

Thanks

PC INFO

OS: Windows 2000
Scanner Interface: PARALLEL

1.2Ghz AMD Athlon,
512MB Ram,
ASUS A7V133 Motherboard,
ECP Parallell port.

PS My friend also has the same scanner and a very similar system (he has 256Mb of Ram instead of my 512Mb) and his Umax 600P also produced black scans.

Help

It won't work under 2000, I just purchased a parallel visioneer 5300 and it doesn't have 2000 drivers on thier site and says it's not supported either, have a logitech parallel that won't work under 2k either, they both give the same symptoms, black scans. Switched to a USB version of the Visioneer 5300 and it works find, guess the parallel port scanners have some kind of issue with 2k.
