I don't think fatigues was an official term. BDU is the old term and uniform; recently replaced by the ACU (Army Combat Uniform).

I don't think fatigues was an official term. BDU is the old term and uniform; recently replaced by the ACU (Army Combat Uniform).

BDUs has always been the term...
now they are MARPATS and ACU
fatigues was a slang term never offical..

btw shellshocked is NOT the same as PTSD

Shellshocked is a term to describe the period of disoreientation confusion after a explosive device goes off way to close to you..

best way it was ever portrayed was in the beginning of private ryan when hanks is off in la la land after a nearby shell stunned him..

Well the "ice box" change was inevitable. "ice boxes" used to be actual boxes of full of ice in the days before refrigeration was invented. A freezer is a direct replacement for a ice box so it's reasonable for people to call it a ice box. But now, after so many years, few people alive have had direct experience with real ice boxes so it would be a leap to continue calling a freezer an ice box.

The Oriental thing is stupid. Oriental actually makes it obvious that you're talking about a specific race, East Asians.. you know, the people with narrow eyes who are good at math. "Asian" refers to the whole continent, including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Russia, etc... people who look completely different but are also good at math.
"Asia" is as much a racial category as "Eurasia", yet it's the replacement for a more specific term.
