Old system stopped booting, new won't boot.

My old Celeron system stopped booting up, so I decided it was time to upgrade to:
Athlon 1.2 G
Abit KT7A mobo
Geforce 2 mx dh pro
Enermax EG301P-V(E) (approved AMD ps)

It won't boot either. I tried replacing the power switch, nothing. I tried swapping out the RAM (generic pc-100), nothing. The only thing, besides the RAM, that is the same is the case itself. It is not the power strip, I checked it.

Please help!! I am totally freakin' stumped!!! I've asked friends that know about computers and they are stumped too. Now I wish I had them test the combo for me.

If you need more info, please ask. Thanks.

Is it possible it's shorting out against the case somehow? Take everything out of the case and set it up on a non-conducting surface and see if it boots.

I hadn't thought of it shorting out, I will check that tonight. As for any power indications, the only thing I can hear is a small sound when I turn the PS off. Kind of like the sound you hear with some monitors when you turn them off. I'm wondering if the mobo is DOA, it's an Abit.

Dude, check your psu, it may be dead or not enough to power the Athlon. Here's a link to AMD's site where you can check to see if you have the right psu for your new setup.

I checked the PS before I bought it and it is listed on AMD's site. I guess I will try a different case.. If anyone can think of ANYTHING at all, please feel free to post! Thanks!

it does sound like your mobo is getting grounded by the case but if that was the case why would your old system stop booting all of the sudden after long time of running fine if you haven't made any changes to it. Did you change anything to the case or system itself around the time this started?

My old system was due for a reformat.(I had put on and taken off a lot of crap) When I went to reload Windows it said I didn't have enough RAM, I had 128mb. I pulled out HD#2 and put it in another computer and let my system sit until I felt like playing with it. I went to try again some time later and it loaded then BIOS and then went blank. I realized I had forgotten to re-plug in HD#1. I plug it in and this time nothing happens. I buy the new parts, still nothing happens. No fans, lights, beeps or noise.

so make sure its not grounded take everything apart and try booting outside the case. if it does, just put everything back inside this time making sure its not grounded.
