Old SoundBlaster card Benchmarking

Hi all,

I am badly in need of finding latency of a old Soundblaster 16 PCI card. This is for a research experiment we did
some five years ago using the SoundBlaster-16.

By "Latency" I mean as the time taken between the command from the program to
when actually the soundcard delivers the audio.

Thanks and Regards,

Oooh, wow. That's pretty old-school. Is this a question of latency, in terms of the actual operation of the SB16 hardware itself, or more of the latency as seen by the host software controlling the card? Obivously the first one would be basically fixed, and based on the hardware, and the second would depend on the system that it was installed in, and how the busses between the CPU and the ISA bus were connected (directly, bridged to PCI, etc.)

I would try to dig up some old x86 demo-scener tuts or something. See if they reference any data.
