I have an Old sound card that gripes about thge only package I found on the net as being the wrong driver.

Cirrus Logic cs 4614 sound card driver for winXP ( Cirrus Logic makes Crystal semiconductor sound card chips.
I cannot find the right driver for either crystal sc4614 nor for Cirrus sc 4614 other than being put through a humbug hoop to jump through for Drivers.com to answer dozens of quaestions they can later spam me to death with.

Does anyone have this driver for win XP?

I downloaded this version but after installing it, pressing on my volume control yields as follows

" There are no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices, go to Control Panel, click Printers and Other

Hardware, and then click Add Hardware.

This program will now close."

Your link though it looks right yields the same driver batch file as does Nohr's and I will try one more time to uninstall and reinstall yours but it looks grim... No idea what the gripe is about

have you tried to go to system in the control panel and clicked on unknown devices and tried to force install the drivers?

TungFree, you may need to contact them. They still have over 5,000 of those sound cards in stock so hopefully they come with drivers. Give them a call or contact their support department. By them I refer to Rochester Electronics.

biostud as to "have you tried to go to system in the control panel and clicked on unknown devices and tried to force install the drivers?"

I am rusty on forcing a driver in, I tried it 6 years ago and forgot how I did it. Can you refresh my memory?

I have an unknown device, but it is alongside my net worjking driver... earlier I had a difficulty finding a driver for my networking card, that is when it appeared but if I disable it or eneble it no change occurs in my networking nor in my sound problem.

Still it is worth trying to force a driver into it and see what changes. Though I have no clue here why it would work.

Now I can move the sound card into a different PCI slot and then try force install it, but I think I had tried that way though I am not sure I did what you have in mind.

So do show me the steps, please.
