Old softek keyboard and mouse issues

Hello. Was messing around with an old pc from a friend of mine. All I have is the tower though. It does not have the common purple and green mouse connections on back, but it has a few other larger pin connections that I am unfamiliar with. Did some of these older pcs use adapters of some sort to connect a keyboard and mouse to the unit? Was gonna reformat the pc, but I cannot get past the first load screen when I boot up. Letting me know there is keyboard issues. And of course I am stuck there. Any info would be great. Thanks.

Does it have USB, otherwise the thing must be an antique if it doesn't use PS/2 connectors. But yes there were other types long ago.
