I have a GW FOP32, I think, that I bought back in the day of the Socket370 Celerons. It's a gigantic aluminum monster. Can I possibly use this on a PIII or Duron/Thunderbird? And if not, what hsf should I get? Thanks in advance.

I would go for a new fan, hardly much of an expense really, so you may as well get a new one.

http://www.coolermaster.com

take a trip there, the DP56H51 is quite a good fan, cools various fans up to 1.2ghz Athlon, does a good job too, keeps my Duron 750mhz running at 30c.

The problem is that the FOP32 will not properly fit the new lower profile cpu package. It's not the fault of the slotket, but the new CPU sits lower in the slotket, where you wont get a level fit.

Huh? I was just about to buy two Fop32's for my FCPGA 700e's. On several websites where I could buy the heatsink it said that it fits fcpga as well. What's up?

Cool. Thanks everyone who helped me out. I think I'll wait and see how my retail Duron 650's hsf work out for overclocking on my KT7. If it's not good enough, I think I'll go with the Taisol one advertised in the FS forum.
BTW, Jugernot, how would i go about modifying the one I have to work?
Again, thanks everyone.
