I was just given an old netvista box with 4 18gb scsi HDs, can't get it to boot and i'm suspicious that it had a previous linux build.

It doesn't recognize a bootable drive, so I'm going to grab the drivers from somewhere and use the "hit f6 to install 3rd party scsi drivers".

my main question is, if it had linux on it previously... with that throw me for a loop?

what file system does linux run off anyway? really no clue at all on linux

If you format in NTFS or FAT, it will change the structure of the hdd - to your advantage if you want MSWindows.
